Uganda Patient Got Back on Her Feet By Knee Replacement Surgery in India

In Mrs. Mary Emegwa's Own Words

Hello, I am Mrs Mary Emegwa from Uganda. I needed a Knee Replacement Surgery as Arthritis started affecting my joints a few years ago. At first, I could manage this without any surgery and with the help of medication. But soon my general physician advised me to install pins in my ankle to alleviate the pain. As I was allergic to most metals and needed titanium pins, I decide not to leave the country, for if in case I need to have the pins removed. When even after a year there was no reaction, I got in touch with Forerunners Healthcare Group to arrange my knee replacement surgery in India with the titanium pins.

I knew I wouldn’t get the proper surgery t in my country because of the lack of excellent medical facilities. So I did internet research and decided to go with Forerunners Healthcare Group India.

I checked for getting my surgery in the USA or UK, and has been quoted almost $18,500 for one implant in the U.S.A—installation excluded! After adding up all my medical expenses. I knew it would cost me a fortune to pay those medical bills. On the contrary, Forerunners Healthcare gave me options in India, and I chose the best hospital for my knee replacement surgery at an affordable price. The price there was $15,000, including installation for both the knees, including the hospital, stay in a private room.

I noticed that the level of pre-surgery tests was a lot more extensive than I’ve ever had. A whole team of orthopaedic specialists used to visit me every single day, and the nursing staff was very compassionate.

One thing I’d recommend is if you can afford it, take a travel companion with you. That long a stay was a bit lonely and isolating. I met several other African patients at the beginning of my visit, but they all went home before I did. With my new pain-free knees in place, I’m looking forward to living a better life. I use to restrict myself, and it limited my life. Thanks to Forerunners Healthcare for the excellent results, I hope now to be able to do that. I’d recommend to out international packages to anyone who doesn’t have insurance and needs this medical assistance in India. I can’t thank the forerunners group for their support, and I’m looking forward to a happy and pain-free life.
